Slenderman appears to potentially be some sort of godlike entity, who has control over many aspects of the lives of people he chooses to "haunt". His true origins are unknown, however his first appearance on the internet as “slenderman” was on the SomethingAwful forums in june of 2009, in a photoshop competition.
A/N, I believe this likely happened because of slenderman’s ability to manipulate those who’ve seen or heard of him to tell his story. Whether any stories told in the original forum threads are true is still unknown.
Its height ranges anywhere between 6 to over 10 feet tall, he can manipulate his appearance but it is unknown how drastically it can change. It is always seen wearing a suit of some sort with either a red or back tie. Theories on its tie color say it may change based on whether it is stalking or hunting. It always appears faceless, though some report it having a humanoid bone structure beneath its skin. Some people have also stated its face to have the texture of wood in some cases. The clothing slenderman wears has also had varying accounts.
It generally behaves in a way that could be considered passive-aggressive. It haunts people for months or in some cases even years. It has been said that it will kill victims by impaling them on trees, though I have never found any potentially true accounts of this happening outside of the original thread. More often than not, it tortures its victims mostly mentally, making them belive they’re going insane or driving them into a state of inescapable paranoia.
